Indira Gandhi International Airport serves as the primary civilian aviation hub for the National Capital Region of Delhi, India. The airport, spread over an area of 5,106 acres is situated in Palam, 15 km (9.3 mi) south-west of the New Delhi railway station and 16 km from New Delhi city centre. Named after Indira Gandhi, a former Prime Minister of India, it is the busiest airport in the country in terms of passenger traffic and international traffic busiest airport in India since 2009.

CHENNAI AIRPORT

Chennai International Airport is the primary airport serving the  South Indian metropolis of . The airport is spread across the suburban areas of Meenambakkam, Pallavaram  and Tirusulam. The domestic and the international terminals are named after former chief ministers of Tamil Nadu K.Kamaraj and C. N. Annadurai  respectively. It is the first airport in India to have international and domestic terminals located adjacent to each other.

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) , formerly Sahar International Airport, is the primary international airport serving the Mumbai Metropolitan Area, India. It is the second busiest airport in the country in terms of passenger traffic and international traffic after Delhi, and was the 47th busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic in 2014 according to Airports Council International. The airport is the busiest in the country in terms of cargo traffic. The airport has five operating terminals spread over an operational area of 750 hectares (1,850 acres) and handles more than 780 aircraft movements per day. It is one of the two airports in India to have implemented Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) to ensure timely takeoffs and landings.

Coimbatore Airport

Coimbatore International Airport is the primary airport serving the city of Coimbatore in South India. It is located at Peelamedu, about 13 km (8.1 mi) from the center of the city. Previously known as Peelamedu Civil Aerodrome, it is the 15th largest airport in India in terms of total aircraft movement. About 7 domestic and 3 international airlines connect to the airport.

Madurai Airport

Project Highlights

Madurai Airport is a primary airport serving Madurai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Located about 12 km (7.5 mi) from the Madurai railway station, the airport was established in 1957. It is the fourth busiest airport in the state of Tamil Nadu after Chennai, Coimbatore and Tiruchirappalli. The airport is expected to reach saturation in the fiscal year 2017.
